I was hired by Jymber to design and develop a custom front-end for a responsive web app built in CakePHP. The responsive web app is built for a recruiting company and works with their applicant database, allowing staff to easily manage job openings and candidates in a more user-friendly way.
A user-friendly, mobile-friendly design was a must so that staff can access candidate and job information and perform tasks on their computers, phones and tablets.
My role on the project was user interface design and front-end development. I worked to develop the HTML in the CakePHP view files with the application-rendered markup, as well as hand-coding the CSS to work with the server-rendered HTML.
The front-end framework is custom and semantic using a LESS-based grid system.
The application features dynamic forms that animate form sections in as needed. The forms were designed to be enjoyable and quick to fill out. Forms were designed with the power user in mind, allowing tech savvy staff to quickly fill out forms with keyboard-friendly inputs.
All jQuery functionality is custom except for select plugins to deliver maintainable, reusable, bloat-free front-end code.
